Injection Coke/Injection Carbon
Injection Coke is product derived from Metallurgical Coke. The technique of Foaming Slag using Carbon in the EAF is used to increase productivity, lower operating costs and increase the quality of steel produced. It is also used as deoxidizing agent.
Below are the materials used for manufacturing Injection Coke -
1. Anthracite Coal – Mid fixed carbon, low sulfur content, high volatile content.
2. Metallurgical Coke – Low fixed carbon, low sulfur content, high volatile content & high ash .
3. Calcined Pet Coke – high fixed carbon content but not normally used
because of high price. High Sulphur CPC, could be used for injection
